Tech billionaire Elon Musk appeared alongside US President Donald Trump in the Oval Office on Tuesday night, with his son, X Æ A-Xii, in tow.
As serious as the event might have been, Lil X, as the kid is commonly called, garnered netizens’ attention with his antics as he seemed to imitate his father.
As the president was getting ready to sign an executive order regarding Musk’s role as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), the Tesla CEO’s son arrived for the conference on his father’s shoulders.
During Musk’s speech, the four-year-old was seen picking his nose and whispering to Trump. In a video clip that went viral on X (Twitter), it appeared the boy even told Trump to shut up.
Shame, Trump even hailed the teenybopper as a “high IQ individual” at the start of the conference.
Speaking to the reporters, Musk said he was open and honest in his work while defending cuts to federal government programs. Meanwhile, Lil X instructed someone to “sh” and “shut your mouth”, per The Hindustan Times.
Some reporters laughed as X stuck his fingers in his father’s ears, prompting the Tesla CEO to say, “I thought my son might enjoy this, but it’s, he’s sticking his fingers in my ears and stuff.”
“So it’s been hard to hear sometimes,” he said, telling his son, “Hey! Stop that.”
Social media users speculated that this was a ‘hot mic’ moment, with X also reportedly saying to Trump, “You are not the president; you need to go away.”

But the issue is contested, with many pointing out that the kid was actually telling reporters to hush, not looking directly at Trump.

He’s clearly looking past Trump to a reporter off camera. He also tells them “I want you to go away” Later, when he’s sitting on Elon’s shoulders, he says it again in the same direction but not anywhere near Trump or looking at him

Some commented that this kind of proves who is in charge.

Since the White House announced that Musk would serve as a special government employee, overseeing the newly established Department of Government Efficiency, he has referred to himself as the “first buddy” of the US president.
His influence during Trump’s second presidency has led some to label him as the “actual president,” “shadow president,” or even “co-president”.
His son seems to agree.

Musician and record producer Grimes, Musk’s former partner and mother to three of his 12 children, was seemingly less than thrilled when she found out via social media about her son’s public appearance.
“He should not be in public like this,” Grimes wrote on social media, commenting on a video of the moment.
“I did not see this, thank u for alerting me. But I’m glad he was polite. Sigh.”
The 36-year-old singer dated Musk from 2018 to 2022 and the duo share three children – X Æ A-Xii (also known as Lil X), three-year-old daughter Exa Dark Sideræl, and two-year-old son Tau Techno Mechanicus.
