What if there was a deodorant out there powerful enough to transform any ordinary guy into a man who smells like power? Wonder no more! Thanks to Old Spice, that day has come, together with a new mind-blowing ad campaign.
Before Isaish Mustafa made Old Spice one of the best-selling deodorants with his “The Man Your Man Could Smell Like” ads, there was Terry Crews and his amazing Odor Blocker campaign. He’s back, this time championing the brand’s “Smell is Power” campaign, which introduces their new “Danger Zone” scent.
Crews, a former NFL player turned actor/comedian, will be promoting their new Red Zone body sprays via a series of ads. The campaign was dreamed up with Portland’s Wieden+Kennedy advertising agency, and will feature five commercials all together. All but one of the ads will run on television, the last will be aired exclusively on their media channels on Facebook and YouTube. The campaign will officially kick off tomorrow during the NFL’s NFC Divisional Playoff Game.
In addition to those five commercials, Old Spice will unveil two “first of its kind” co-branded television advertisements with Procter & Gamble. The commercials will initially appear to promote P&G’s Bounce and Charmin brands, only to be taken over by Crews “who literally busts through each ad to illustrate how Old Spice body spray smells so much like power it sells itself in other brand’s commercials.”
It’s highly unlikely that we’ll see any of these ads on local TV, but thankfully YouTube is but a click away. If you’re unfamiliar with Crews’ previous campaign, do yourself a favour and check it out here.
