We’re so chuffed to see Heidi Klum squeezed in a moment to dress up for Halloween before jetting off to Cape Town to assist Prince William in the Earthshot Prize Awards ceremony happening on November 6.
At this stage, the supermodel is basically Halloween, being one of the only celebs to consistently take it seriously and go all out, year after year. Don’t forget the time she dressed up as a disgustingly fat worm or how she came as an entire peacock, with people as feathers, for last year’s Halloween do. Legend.
The 51-year-old model stole the show this year again, having hosted her 23rd annual Halloween Party at Hard Rock Hotel New York last night. She and her husband Tom Kaulitz arrived as female and male versions of E.T. from Steven Spielberg’s 1982 film E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.
On the red carpet, Klum told PEOPLE she decided to embody the character because E.T. has been “part of most of our lives” and she’s always been “a big fan.”
“[I] kind of thought about the universe in a different way and I thought E.T. was so cute and how he was wiggling around and all the moments when E.T. got dressed up with a wig and everything so I just thought it would be fun to become E.T. and especially to see two,” she says, noting that they started getting ready since 11 a.m.
The costume includes a glowing fingertip as an ode to the beloved movie as well as a motorised headpiece with a movable mouth and eyes. Incredible:

Also calling home was Janelle Monáe, who wore the iconic character costume as well, which she debuted on Instagram on Wednesday. She told PEOPLE that her cozzie was years in the making! How cute, though?

The satirical body horror film is a fantastically terrifying commentary on our obsession with staying young and beautiful, about a black-market drug – a cell-replicating substance that temporarily creates a younger, better version of herself – and how that can go horribly wrong.
Then, Ed Sheeran became a real-life meme as he dressed up in a monkey costume, referencing an AI-generated image of him that went viral online. The singer posed over a table as he held up his phone to show the inspiration for his look.

Tyla took inspiration from Halle Berry’s Sharon Stone character from the 1994 film The Flintstones, rocking the iconic tiger-print costume.

The rest of the celeb cohort’s costumes descended into reductiveness, with Nicola Peltz Beckham taking the cake of boring, dressing up as a Playboy bunny. How many times has this been done?

Also in the worst category is Anne Hathaway, whose ‘Boo York City’ costume had everyone confused.
