Celebrate South Africa’s National Shiraz Day tomorrow!

Seven Days of Celebrating Shiraz traditionally centres around 21 August, South Africa’s very own National Shiraz Day, and the seven days following this date.

Programmes usually range from lekker Shiraz galore, Shiraz and then some more Shiraz, with winemaker-led tastings of rare gems, quick and easy pairings for those just popping in, savoury and sweet culinary twists, and a whole lot more.

Our favourite wine farm in the Franschhoek region is hosting the ultimate Shiraz tasting that will be available to the public from 21 – 28 August 2024.

This event is the perfect occasion to get out and about in the magnificent Cape Winelands in the company of friends, with the special once-off opportunity to enjoy an expertly sourced selection of three cured meats paired with three estate-produced Shiraz wines.

“The poetic pairing of Shiraz and Charcuterie has long been celebrated. Charcuterie’s salty, aromatic flavours and sweet, rich fattiness are naturally complemented by the typically bright acidity, bold fruitiness and spiciness of outstanding Shiraz wines – a partnership which this tasting experience aims to highlight.”

The Shiraz & Charcuterie Pairing will be available at both the Anthonij Rupert Tasting Room and Terra del Capo Tasting Room at a lovely R150 per person.
