South Africa’s favourite parody musician and all-round nice guy was the victim of a robbery right before a show scheduled to take place in Detroit, USA.

The singer posted about the unfortunate incident on social media mere hours before the show.

“This morning, our tour van was broken into in a secure parking space along with a few other cars,” he stated on his artist pages:

“A lot of our gear is gone, but we’ll do our best to figure something out before the event tonight. It only gets worse… Someone tried to take the keys from our merch guy as he was getting what was left out of the car, but he fled and phoned the cops. Fortunately, they apprehended him while he was looting the car.”

Fortunately, nobody was injured, but the singer said “Our poor merchandiser is in shock.”

Unfortunately, the theft left him with no choice but to cancel the planned show, and the poor guy had to announce refunds on all the tickets.

“I’m very sorry to inform my fans in Detroit that tonight’s show’s been cancelled due to gear being stolen out of our van. Between getting a new van, new equipment, police reports, we just don’t have enough time to get the show ready. Refunds available at point of purchase.”

This is not kiff at all. We’re just glad the shysters got caught and that nobody was harmed. There’s probably a song in there somewhere.
