For the first time ever, Train, the multi-Grammy Award-winning, diamond-selling band from San Francisco is finally heading all the way down to our shores.

It took them long enough to get on the right track, didn’t it?

If you need a little memory jog, since its formation in 1994, Train has had 14 songs on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart and 13 albums on the Billboard 200 chart, from which their popular bops ‘Hey, Soul Sister’, ‘Drops of Jupiter’, and ‘Drive By’ you absolutely will know.

This global hit was the #1 best-selling smash and most downloaded single of 2010, achieving RIAA Diamond status in 2021, and becoming 11x platinum. In 2022 it even surpassed one billion streams on Spotify.

The big news is that Train, fresh off the heels of an epic summer headline tour that took in nearly 50 US cities, has announced their long-awaited tour to South Africa next year.

Finally, the band will be gracing Mzansi stages with their iconic hits spanning three decades during the highly anticipated ‘I KNOW, IT’S BEEN A LONG TIME COMING’ tour. At least they know it:

The international tour will kick off in April 2024 in Manchester, UK, before Train makes their way down to South Africa for their first-ever live performance in our country.

Train frontman Pat Monahan is positively frothing:

“After 25 years of releasing Train’s first album, we are finally going to South Africa, a place we’ve all dreamt of since we were little kids. What a beautiful and treasured gift music has been for us. We can’t wait to be there and perform for what we know will be an incredible and beautiful group of people.”
