South Africa’s premier portal for all things cannabis, SEED Inc. has finally taken the groundbreaking step of releasing a full-length magazine that covers everything cannabis and hemp related, both local and international. And it’s beautiful.
Beautiful is an apt word to describe the attention and detail that has been put into this special moment in the cannabis industry, and at first glance, the colouring and layouts are strikingly crisp and modern, while reading through the copy it becomes clear that this is no stoner rag put together with Canva.
The wide range of content places it in an ideal position to become the go-to resource for anyone who is in the cannabis sector, whether you farm, produce, smoke, or promote the sweet leaf. But it’s the quality of the pieces that makes it an even more attractive offering for a sector that’s only beginning to realise its own worth. It’s a properse magazine, not a blog.
Adding some gravitas to the first edition, their debut feature article delves into the mind of non-other than the cannabis-loving Morgan Freeman himself, who gazes into our souls, daring us to call him a stoner.
The magazine aims to take a closer look at every link in the cannabis chain, from commercial to recreational, legal, medicinal, and even products for your pets. To be honest, after taking a drag of the first edition, it’s probably some of the most informative content on the industry we’ve seen in one magazine.Along with the industry-spanning content, we particularly enjoyed their feature on the Top 12 Women in Weed, which to our mind is something nobody else has seriously touched on, and a fitting tribute during this month.
Seed Inc Magazine features a recipe sections with tried and trusted ways to do a perfect ‘Stony Crab’ cannabis-infused crayfish with beurre blanc sauce, or a ‘High Cheese’ baked pear with gorgonzola in phyllo pastry. Call it Ina Blaarman for a new generation.Another fresh idea was the inclusion of cannabis-related legal services, such as a full page devoted to attorneys dealing with cannabis (I mean, have you ever seen a list of services provided by legal heavyweights that include cannabis-related topics – It’s trippy).
Cannabis is an honest-to-Morgan-Freeman industry now, with some of the best legal, medical, and business minds actively involved, and billions of rands of investment flowing into the country. There’s gold in them thar hills, and SEED Inc. just gave us the definitive brochure.
Seedinconline.com is the brainchild of Robbie Stammers, and as with many breakthroughs, the idea was a result of a ‘rethink’ during the Covid days. Robbie was a familiar face in the tourism and wine industry, but the lockdown gave the entrepreneur the time to focus on another passion – cannabis.
Robbie is the first to admit that he hates the word ‘stoner’, and the magazine is his ode to the industry, culture, and plant beyond the haze of Cheech and Chong gags. We dare say the inaugural edition of Seed Inc Magazine finally puts the legitimacy of cannabis on record, and in print.
Seed Inc will begin with a large print run distributed for free nationally via their partners, advertisers, grow shops, social clubs dispensaries, retail outlets, 420-friendly establishments, and outdoor festivals.
Because sharing is caring in the cannabis world, you can get your FREE online copy of Seed Inc Magazine here.
Hail to the leaf, and the people behind this beautiful idea!
