Perhaps we should rechristen Princess of Wales Kate Middleton to the Princess of Jol. The popular royal brought the gees this past weekend at Norfolk’s Houghton music festival.

41-year-old Middleton let down her hair for some dancing, top-notch grub and “spicy margaritas” at the 24-hour festival, and looked like she had a blast while doing so. Sounds like a great combo to me.

The Princess of Wales was seen chatting and drinking with friends at Turntable & Napkin, a laarnie eatery near the festival. I suppose it makes sense that you wouldn’t want to queue at the fest’s food-trucks if you’re a royal. Bring on the bougie!

Spirits were clearly high at the pre-jol dinner, with Middleton and co. ordering a bottle of Aix rosé and affogatos. She’s still the same philanthropist that the world loves, leaving the restaurant staff a tip equivalent to R17 000, even though she was off-the-clock.

One social media user spotted Middleton and her ‘spicy marg’ hanging out at the venue in a simple and chic off-the-shoulder number and stylish Veja sneakers.

Apparently some close friends, the Marquess and Marchioness of Cholmondeley, David Cholmondeley and Rose Hanbury, who own the Houghton Hall estate, convinced Middleton to join them for the festival, and it seems like she had no regrets as the fun night culminated in the group of choms throwing shapes on the dancefloor. A little wary at first, Middleton told her buddies she had spoken to protection officers and was up for the party. Good for you, Princess!

Prince William obviously had other plans, because Middleton flew solo for this one.

While Middleton was just trying to let loose, of course social media users and the local press just had to try bring her down.

Many users on Twitter/X are confused as to why the candid shot is being criticised and comments are being limited by certain media houses. Have ya’ll never seen a gorgeous middle-aged woman out for a night with her pals?

May the Princess of Wales inspire us all to have a dop and a dance this weekend. Maybe she should have a girl’s night with Sanna Marin…
