Time stopped for urban streetwear connoisseurs this week as PUMA and Shayne Oliver of Anonymous Club announced one of the hottest new collaborations to hit sneaker shelves worldwide.
The designer and world-renowned sneaker pros PUMA have worked together to take footwear into the realm of aesthetic divinity with the new rubber Plexus shoe.
In the art and fashion world, Shayne Oliver’s name has been on everyone’s lips. From designing haute couture items, to composing edgy photoshoots, there’s almost no creative sphere that this young fashionista hasn’t put his stamp on.
After stepping down from his design duties for his brand Hood By Air, Oliver has recently announced a rebranding under the name Shayne Oliver Group – a place where he can house all his various artsy endeavours, including Anonymous Club and ASSO.
It makes sense that the Berlin-based artist chose the cutting-edge collaboration with PUMA as the first ‘drop’ on Shayne Oliver Group’s socials, with a hip poster inviting followers to the Friday launch of the Plexus.
Transcending fashion boundaries, the launch moves into the world of underground music and the arts scene in Berlin, with local electronica royalty Venetta.

While flying over to the Berlin launch is likely impossible for many of us SA fans of PUMA (as much as we’d like to jet off to catch the magic), the South African division of the streetwear brand is making sure we get our taste of the beautiful new Plexus shoe.
Even the short clip posted by PUMA SA to celebrate the collab screams the future of art:

More like a sculpture than a sneaker, the Plexus is inspired by the retro Mostro shoe, bringing a contemporary edge to the original Plexus design dropped earlier this year.
Not only are the shoes a triumph for fashion, but they’re tougher than their translucent exterior suggests: these babies are 100% weatherproof.
With PUMA‘s footwear know-how, and Oliver’s on-the-pulse visual prowess, it’s unlikely we’ll get a collab this good again (until the brand’s next drop, that is).
