Get your knuckles ready for biting because you’re going to want to release tension after seeing two supercars crash into each other after the most avoidable impact ever.
The supercar event as part of a Father’s Day luncheon outside a mall in Durban on Sunday was going smoothly when one passing car managed to plough into a Porche, which then scraped two other supercars.
The developer of the Oceans Mall in Umhlanga that hosted the event, Vivian Reddy, posted a video of the silly accident on social media. Per The Citizen, a grey 996 generation Porsche 911 is seen leaving the impromptu parking space when it gets backed into by a passing SUV, causing it to crash into the two other supercars parked alongside it. There’s mention of the other cars being a BMW X2 and what looks like a McLaren 650 S.
Amazingly, a pedestrian who was part of the car meeting narrowly escaped injury and walked away after the crash.
Besides the hairy miss of an actual person, it is no fun seeing expensive cars careen into each other, especially when it seems thoroughly avoidable:

In a statement to TimesLIVE, the mall remarked:
“The Oceans Mall piazza has become the gathering point for supercars over the weekend and attracts hundreds of viewers. This accident serves as a reminder of the pressing need for drivers to prioritise road safety to prevent future incidents.
“We were told there were no injuries to pedestrians or drivers involved. The local authorities, metro police and police were on the scene shortly thereafter.”
The 996 generation Porsche 911 was introduced in 1998, with a sought-after model today priced from R749 900 to R999 900 according to a quick price search on AutoTrader.
What can you do besides stare in wonderment at how easy and fast money goes down the drain?
