It turns out Queen Camilla may not have been King Charles’s only side chick while he was married to Princess Diana.
According to a news report, His Majesty is alleged to have also had a relationship with a fashion designer named Lady Dale Tryon, who joined the royal social circle in the late seventies.
Charles apparently called her “Kanga” because of her Australian roots, and the monarch once called her “the only woman who ever really understood me”.
Charles reportedly became friends with Dale when she married Anthony Tryon, 3rd Baron Tryon, in 1973. However, she and Charles reportedly crossed paths for the first time in 1996 when she met the monarch at a school dance in Melbourne, where she had grown up. Dale eventually divorced her husband in 1997.
In a documentary titled Prince Charles’ Other Mistress, it is alleged that Charles and Dale’s relationship arose while he was still seeing Camilla. Tryons denied the affair, but according to the doccie, she began pursuing the rascally royal during a polo match while confined to a wheelchair.
Lady Dale Tryon’s life was a tragic story. She was diagnosed with uterine cancer in 1993, and this was followed by a period of alcohol and drug addiction that led to her being admitted to rehab in 1996 after abusing painkillers, along with large amounts of vodka and champagne to deal with her cancer.
While at the treatment centre, Dale fell from a window and severely injured herself. She was left paralysed and forced to use a wheelchair for 18 months.
The word allegedly is liberally sprinkled throughout reports of their involvement, and it may never be confirmed as Lady Dale Tryon died in 1997 from septicemia or blood poisoning. Her death came just 2 months after Princess Diana’s.
Whether there is much truth to the story of their affair is unknown as reports are liberally sprinkled with the word alleged. King Charles is also likely to not acknowledge any of the gossip.
But if true, it just adds another tragic story to the sordid world which is the ‘royal social circle’.
