The highly anticipated Barbie movie might have used up all the world’s pink paint, but at least PUMA got some before it was completely gone.
With everyone ramping up for all the pink fantastic in Greta Gerwig’s new film, coming out in theatres on July 21, the ultimate sportswear brand is also coming up with its own kind of pink delight.
Get your Barbicore on with the hotly anticipated PLEASURES x PUMA Velophasis sneakers.
Sporty, futuristic, and (of course) entirely pink, the collaborated sneaker between Los Angeles-based streetwear brand PLEASURES x PUMA classically melds the old with the new, encouraging PUMA’s iconic silhouette to take on Y2K visual codes, writes Highsnobiety.
The retro-inspired Velophasis was originally released earlier this year, featuring an eye-catching silhouette constructed with a combination of technical and performance materials. Now, PLEASURES has put their unique touch on the sneaker through a distinct purple overdyeing process.
The PLEASURES x PUMA Velophasis features a pink midsole that gets the sneaker’s monochrome treatment deliberately, giving the sneaker a worn-in feel.
The overdyeing technique encompasses the entire shoe, from the laces to the sole, enhancing the collaboration’s do-it-yourself aesthetic.
The revamped Velophasis also features a translucent cage tinted in purple, adorned with the PLEASURES logo in black.
The PUMA x PLEASURES Overdyed Velophasis will be available for purchase starting June 24, 2023, through various channels, including PUMA.com, PLEASURES.com, PUMA flagship stores, and selected retailers.
Keep an eye out on PUMA South Africa, too.
