Now here’s an Awww moment if there ever was one.
A couple visiting a US Zoo posted the sweetest video to TikTok of a mother Orangutan named Amber asking to see their 2-month-old baby, and it’s just what we all need on a Monday.
Orangutans are known to share a lot of similarities with humans, including having close bonds with their mamas. According to Orangutan.org, only humans have a more intense relationship with their young than orangutans.
Infant orangutans stay in close contact with their mothers for a long time. For the first two years of a young orangutan’s life, they are completely dependent on their mother for transportation, food, and caregiving.
The way the mother Orangutan points to the baby gives you the impression that it understands the bond that exists between parent and baby, and its gushy feels all the way.
According to Pethelpful, Amber was born at the Como Park Zoo in St. Paul, Minnesota on October 15, 1987. She is known for her playful personality and enjoys interacting with guests and often taps the glass to grab the attention of those nearby, pointing out sparkling accessories, brightly coloured fingernails, or gestures towards a purse or backpack to see what’s inside.
Amber even appeared on the David Letterman show in the ’90s.
Have a look at the touching moment and get your daily dose of sweetness:
