Britney Spears is about to break the internet with her tell-all autobiography.
She has not by any means been afraid to say it like it is on her Instagram account since the end of her conservatorship, putting a number of family members and friends on the boil, and getting heated about how much anger and resentment she still carries.
There’s every reason to believe that she may, in a way, go harder in her book which could create legal liability. She secured the book deal over a year ago already (reported to be worth at least $15 million), and has written and rewritten it three times, she says, along with going through a sh*t ton of therapy. But finally, it is ready.
Except there is a little big hump in the way. Several celebrities that she is outing as having had affairs with are freaking out and sending “strongly worded legal letters” to the publishers by attorneys as they fear they are in the book. Because of all the potential lawsuit issues, the autobiography may get pushed back to late this year, CinemaBlend reports:
Obviously no one involved is speaking on the record, but if The Sun is to be believed, there are “two Hollywood stars” Britney Spears reportedly claims she had affairs with that are causing issues. They’ve allegedly reached out, and now, the publisher is supposedly consulting with its own legal team to figure out if there is any potential liability. This process could take months, which is why the end of the year is now being targeted for a release date.
Provided she hasn’t signed any NDAs or management contracts that restrict her ability to speak, Britney is free to share her truth and stick up a middle finger to whoever she deems worthy. In the same breath, if someone feels that her claims and allegations are untrue or misleading, they have the right to file a lawsuit.
While many people are happy to just move on if rumours are aired, others take it hella personally and fight back. Take, for example, what Johnny Depp did to Amber Heard in that huge lawsuit over an op-ed she was involved in.
While Spears has been married three times to people who wouldn’t be referred to as A-listers, she has had relationships with the likes of Justin Timberlake and Colin Farrell, who may or may not be filing these said lawsuits.
But in all likelihood, the people freaking out are probably those who have never been publically revealed as being associated with the ‘Toxic’ singer. This idea aligns with the statement that The Sun’s source made after having allegedly read the book:
“There’s a fair amount of throwing people under the bus, talking about past relationships, some of whom will be revealed for the first time ever.”
Well, you can bet your bottom dollar that when Britney’s book comes out, the reaction will be pretty explosive.
Cue the hair flick:
