We’re surprised this doesn’t happen more often. With all the kids flipping over cars and dressing up as potplants to scare people for their share of Youtube and TikTok glory, somebody was bound to get hurt at some point.
YouTube prankster Tanner Cook (don’t Google him, you’ll just ruin your algorithm), was shot in the stomach yesterday after a failed attempt to prank an apparently un-prankable Alan W. Colie.
The nature of the prank has not yet been revealed, but the shooting caused panic in the US mall, sending people scurrying everywhere. Hell, who can blame the poor stressed-out Americans?
YouTubers need to read the room a bit better. ‘Pranking’ strangers in a country with more guns than people, and more than 130 mass shootings this year alone, is bound to be a #failarmy.
“I was playing a prank, a simple practical joke, and this guy didn’t take it very well and shot me.”
Cook runs a YouTube channel Classified Goons (again, don’t do it), which shows him performing Jackass-style pranks on unsuspecting people. One of these unsuspecting people was Alan W. Colie, you pulled out a semi-automatic weapon and fired a shot at the prankster, hitting him in the stomach and liver.
Colie is currently being charged with aggravated malicious wounding, shooting in the commission of a felony and discharging firearms within an occupied building.
According to New York Post, the incident happened next to a Cheesecake Factory at the Dulles Town Center in Dulles, and fortunately, Cook was not fatally wounded and received medical treatment before being transported to the hospital.

The actual incident wasn’t caught on camera. Imagine being a click-hungry Youtuber and then being shot in the gut near a Cheesecake Factory – and your camera guy wasn’t filming. That must feel like a gutshot.
However, footage filmed by Instagram user @thisismyu5ername showed Colie being arrested in the aftermath of the act, so at least someone is going viral today.
We are sure Tanner will make a speedy recovery and will be back soon. As he says: “Been on my grind every day, don’t believe in takin’ breaks I ain’t stoppin’ till we chillin’ at the top”.
For now, Tanner will be chillin’ in a hospital bed.
