Season four of Succession premiered on Sunday night, drawing attention to a magnificent mansion that we all wish we could get our grubby hands on.
Except the plot belongs to the Roy kids, and anyone else with $83 million to spare.
Described as “Substack meets Masterclass meets The Economist meets The New Yorker,” the swanky Los Angeles mega-mansion is where Shiv (Sarah Snook), Kendall (Jeremy Strong), and Roman (Kieran Culkin) were holed up, plotting their new media start-up, The Hundred.
The Roys have no shortage of luxury properties to boast, but the real star of this season’s opener was definitely this hilltop behemoth known as the San Onofre estate.
Perched high up on a one-acre promontory, the modernist abode offers views of the Santa Monica Mountains, the Pacific Ocean, and Downtown LA:
Over to Robb Report for the real deal:
Originally built by celebrity developer Ardie Tavangarian, the Pacific Palisades manse was sold to a 26-year-old crypto billionaire for a whopping $83 million in 2021 following a short stint on the rental market. At the time, the transaction broke two residential sales records for the area.
According to Architectural Digest, the exterior, made to resemble the sail of a ship, was made from board-formed concrete to look like natural wood.
While the TV trio was predominantly seen in the living room and out by the pool, the property actually consists of a 1 858-square-metre spread with six bedrooms and a staggering 18 bathrooms.
To really knock it out of the park, there’s also a chef’s kitchen that was custom designed by Nobu, a sprawling 20-person movie theatre, an outdoor cinema, multiple pools, and a damn jacuzzi positioned on the roof deck as well.
The pièce de résistance is the primary suite, which can only be accessed via a retinal scanner. Inside, there’s a crazy retractable ceiling that can remain open for stargazing.
Take your guesses about which one of the siblings called dibs on that.
