It still kind of blows my mind that it is still news when Britney Spears decides to dance or pose naked on Instagram.
She’s done it often enough that it should have lost its charm by now, but then again, each time she does it, people and publications lap it up.
There is something ever so slightly off about her posting and deleting and reposting, as well as her love/hate relationship with the app more generally (she has deleted her account for the sixth time overall and the third time in the past four months).
Anyway, the 41-year-old star has been “writhing” around in the nude again, “holding her cleavage with her hands” while sporting her “signature black eyeliner” and messy hairstyle.
This, alone, is enough to make fans freak out, but some are taking it a step further and feeding into a conspiracy that the ‘Toxic’ singer is actually dead or missing and someone is keeping her image alive on the ‘Gram.
The Daily Mail caught the recent NSFW post before it was presumably deleted:
The video received a mixed response from 41.6M fans, with some encouraging her and others wondering whether her social media is being controlled.
Here’s one shot:
Comments ranged from those defending the singer saying she can damn well express herself anyhow she sees fit after being controlled for 13 years via her conservatorship to those mentioning these posts might bring back the conservatorship control.
In September her ex-husband Kevin Federline indicated that their teenage sons Jayden, 16, and Sean Preston, 17, were “embarrassed” by her social media antics, but alas, she’s hitting it baby, a couple more times.
The real drama comes from American blogger Perez Hilton inquiring if the shot was indeed “in NYC?????” after fans expressed their doubts that Britney’s previous video of her apparently jet-setting to New York with husband Sam Asghari was from a current timeline:

TikTok is alight with “where is Britney Spears” theories, including one showing that Britney wore the exact same outfit years ago and that video could have been reposted or green-screened to confuse fans:

Interestingly, Sam posted on his Instagram Story on Wednesday to let everyone know that Britney had stepped away from Instagram, asking fans to respect her privacy:
‘Social media can be traumatizing. Sometimes it’s good to take a break. She has her voice and is a free woman. I have respect for her privacy and I protect it at all times,’ he wrote.
He continued: ‘Thank you to all of her protective fans,’ he wrote amid fears from fans that Britney isn’t in control of her own social media accounts.
The Hot Seat actor explained he does not post pictures or videos of Spears ’24/7′ out of ‘respect for her privacy’ and asks permission if he ever does. ‘For my job I have to attend many events. It would be my honour if she joins. For her those things are not fun. They’re hictic [sic] and full of stress,’ he said of why they don’t typically attend red carpets together.
It is all rather strange.
Either way, seeing how Britney’s fans rallied with her to fight her conservatorship, they are keeping a close eye on her now.
The truth will come out.
