In comparison, the first episode of the Harry & Meghan Netflix documentary was watched by a record 2,4 million people, according to new figures released by the independent rating body Barb.
The tell-all doccie is directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Liz Garbus, who has worked on other projects about public figures including Marilyn Monroe, Bobby Fischer, and Nina Simone.
She has said that she hoped viewers would be “open” to the couple’s story despite any preconceptions.
That is slightly up in the air after the British media has pretty much declared war against the ex-royal couple, so these incredible viewership numbers could very much include numerous people hate-watching.
