Our favourite spot in the Franschhoek Winelands is at it again, racking up awards for its illustrious portfolio.
Anthonij Rupert Wyne has been awarded four five-star ratings and 14 four-and-a-half-star ratings for their locally produced and sipped wines.
The internationally recognised Platter’s South African Wine Guide 2023 made the exciting announcement last month, giving a full star award to the Cape of Good Hope Laing Groendruif 2021, Cape of Good Hope Altima Sauvignon Blanc 2022, L’Ormarins Blanc de Blancs 2017, and the maiden release of L’Ormarins Private Cuvee 2014.
The latter was named the category winner.
These accolades continue to reaffirm Anthonij Rupert Wyne’s commitment to quality, producing the best possible wines from their vineyards and building an impressive track record in the process, notes News24.
Naturally, Anthonij Rupert Wyne is positively beaming:

Most inspiring, this is the fourth consecutive year that Cape of Good Hope Groendruif has been awarded the acclaimed five-star rating.
This carefully cultivated wine, sourced from Henk Laing’s farm, Trekpoort, on the Skurfberg Mountains near Clanwilliam, is extraordinarily textural with an enticing interplay of fynbos, nettle, and grapefruit.
Although Cape of Good Hope Laing Groendruif 2021 is already sold out, the 2022 vintage is available through the estate’s Cellar doors and online shop at R155 per bottle.
The winemakers also have the Cape of Good Hope Altima Sauvignon Blanc 2022 to boast about:

This wine is best described as displaying grapefruit, granadilla, and subtle pea pod nuance, revealing its cool climate origin, the Altima vineyard situated in a pristine valley north of Villiersdorp.
You can grab the Altima Sauvignon Blanc 2022 online or directly from the estate’s cellar doors at R145 per bottle.
Then there’s the 2014 vintage and maiden release of L’Ormarins Private Cuvée, a wine that was eight years in the making and is finally ready to tantalise all tastebuds:

Hailing from select vineyards on the company’s high-altitude Altima Estate, this sumptuous and elegant wine composed of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir underwent a miraculous 72 months on the lees before disgorgement.
Good things take time, because this exceptional Cap Classique is tangy and vivid, with lemon, marmalade, and sourdough notes broadening into a fantail of flavour.
Purchase a bottle of the L’Ormarins Private Cuvee 2014 directly from the farm or via the estate’s online shop.
With worries about the international supply of bubbly, we’re glad we have L’Ormarins right on our doorstep.
Last but not least, completing the stellar five-star line-up is the iconic L’Ormarins Blanc de Blancs 2017.
Made from Chardonnay grapes, the complex nose presents a distinct maritime breeze along with whiffs of cream cracker and lemon zest, while a crisp, tangy citrus-laden palate combined with rich biscuit and lees finishes off the refined wine.
Find the L’Ormarins Blanc de Blancs Special Offering online for R1 260, coming in a box complete with six 750ml bottles of bubbles along with six Coupe Champagne Glasses.
Anthonij Rupert Wyne has a wide range of festive deals on the go, many of which make for great Christmas gifts. There’s no harm in getting your shopping done early so you can sit back and enjoy the last few weeks of the year.
