War, famine, and climate change can wait because Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen are no more.

On Friday, the ex-power couple announced their split after 13 years of marriage, two children together (Benjamin, 12, and Vivian, 9), and hundreds of millions of dollars earned.

As is customary for the modern era, the news was released via social media after weeks of speculation that the writing was on the wall.

Gisele is said to have given the quarterback an ultimatum that “either he leaves football to spend time with the family or she is gone for good” and he appears to have chosen football.

The ex-couple went the Instagram Story route, rather than an actual post, so we’ll rely on screenshots:

Brady’s DMs must be an interesting place right now. I imagine Gisele’s DMs have been a hellscape for many years.

The Brazilian supermodel did give a revealing interview to Elle Magazine just last month, reports CNBC:

“Obviously, I have my concerns—this is a very violent sport, and I have my children and I would like him to be more present… I have definitely had those conversations with him over and over again. But ultimately, I feel that everybody has to make a decision that works for [them]. He needs to follow his joy, too.”

Things can change pretty rapidly in the relationship world.

Perhaps he knew what was coming.

Construction on their Florida mansion, which was purchased in 2020 in a high-security enclave dubbed ‘Billionaire Bunker’, is still underway.

They bashed down the huge home that was there and are said to be busy erecting an ‘eco-friendly’ mansion in its place.

The couple is worth an estimated $730 million together so the divorce agreement will be one to watch, if that’s your thing.
