Harvey Weinstein’s legacy as a monster who grossly abused his power and tormented countless women is already cemented. He is currently serving a 23-year prison sentence after being convicted of sex crimes in New York in 2020.

In Los Angeles, a new trial will see him come face to face with his accusers as he faces multiple counts of rape and sexual assault.

The first testimony, from an Italian model identified as Jane Doe 1, took place yesterday and it was bombshell after bombshell as she outlined an alleged brazen sexual assault.

She told jurors that in February 2013, Weinstein arrived at her hotel room unannounced and forced his way inside. Below via The Daily Beast:

Immediately, she said, Weinstein asked to give her a massage—before eventually taking off his pants and forcing her to give him oral sex.

Holding her hair in one hand, and his penis in the other, Jane Doe 1 said, Weinstein “continued to have trouble with an erection” and eventually “walked” her into the bathroom so he could masturbate.

“C’mon, little girl, tell me you like it. You like it,’” she said Weinstein told her while he held her up against the sink…

Doe alleged that Weinstein forced her mouth towards his penis and she repeatedly told him to stop.

She says that when the assault was finished, Weinstein “acted like nothing happened” and instructed her not to tell anybody about what happened.

The topic of Weinstein’s erection, or lack thereof, was picked apart by his defence lawyer, Alan Jackson:

Jackson spent several minutes pressing her about how long Weinstein was able to keep his penis erect and how many times he had an erection during the alleged attack.

“He was from time to time having problems with the erection,” she said. “When he was not having an erection he was upset.”

Lawyers on behalf of Weinstein accused the women of being ashamed of “transactional sex”.

Taking things a step further, defence attorney Mark Werksman said that another accuser, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, would “be just another bimbo who slept with Harvey Weinstein to get ahead in Hollywood” if she wasn’t married to Gavin Newsom, the Governor of California.

As you can imagine, this comment didn’t go down very well with women who have detailed their past experiences with the once all-powerful Hollywood producer.

Werksman also pointed at his client and told jurors, “He’s not Brad Pitt or George Clooney. Do you think these beautiful women had sex with him because he’s hot? No, it’s because he’s powerful.”

He’s correct in that Weinstein is no Pitt or Clooney. As for the rest, bollocks.
