Over the course of our time here on this planet, there has always been a fascination with the disappearing act.
You know, vanishing in front of people’s eyes or escaping the clutches of death.
Centuries ago, Harry Houdini was able to master the act of disappearing, with many fables and urban legends flowing through the cultural grapevine about his astounding feats since.
In our time, David Blaine, Criss Angel, and a multitude of others have made great attempts to emulate Houdini’s achievements.
What’s more interesting is the fact that prisoners have been doing the same thing out of sheer desperation and not to entertain the masses.
However, some commuters were treated to a spicy disappearing act during a morning traffic jam.
According to TimesLIVE, the criminal managed to slip out of a police van and make a break for it.

Fortunately, a wily driver made the effort to capture the astounding footage. When Musi Maimane caught wind of the criminal’s escape, the Build One SA leader took to Twitter to blast the South African Police Service.
“We do not have a police service,” Maimane wrote.
To some viewers on the social media platform, the disappearing act added a dash of humour to their morning routine, while others were concerned by the fact that motorists did not report the crime.
It seems that the age-old practice of disappearing is still alive and well. Although it has evolved, the disappearing will never cease to amaze us.
