For the best part of 15 years, Zapiro and Jacob Zuma have been locking horns.
Time and time again, the now-former president has taken legal action against satirical cartoonist Jonathan Shapiro, who he accuses of reputation damage.
No, Jacob, I think you’ve managed just fine on that front yourself. Time and time again, Zuma’s lawsuits have failed.
Zapiro remains unbowed in the face of these threats and has never backed down from depicting the shower-headed state saboteur in all his glory.
This week saw the winners of the 2022 Nobel Prizes announced in six different categories. Listen to those who have hydrated themselves with the Zuma Kool-Aid over the years and you might think he deserves a clean sweep.
Published on The Daily Maverick yesterday, ‘Special Talent’ hits the nail on the head:
That ‘half a million in one day’ jibe refers to the funding of his private prosecution of State advocate Billy Downer and News24 journalist Karyn Maughan by controversial diamond dealer Louis Liebenberg. It’s not hard to connect the dots there.
The charges against Downer and Maughan will be heard in February 2023.
While we’re here, we might as well enjoy a laugh at the expense of the biggest bootlicker of all, Carl Niehaus.
In a rally on Monday to support Zuma, Niehaus was booted from his seat so that ANC provincial chairperson Siboniso Duma could get comfy:
Carl Niehaus doesn’t get respected despite running around the country supporting criminals 😂 pic.twitter.com/Cz4n8qFrZp

You’ll always be second fiddle, Carl.
Know your place.
