A woman was snatched from her bright yellow Audi R8 at around 10AM on Thursday, right outside the company that is reportedly owned by her husband.
The kidnapping took place on Ipswich Road just outside Nioro Plastics in Blackheath/Kuils River.
The victim is believed to be Anichka Penev, a 35-year-old Ukrainian national, and the wife of Simeon Penev. He’s the owner of Nioro Plastics, per a Cape Town Etc source.
There were apparently two shots fired during the incident.
A video on social media shows CCTV footage capturing the moment she was wedged between two getaway cars and then taken.
We can see unknown assailants jump from a white Toyota Avanza, which stops in front of her, and then a Ford Fiesta park her in:

IOL notes Western Cape MEC of police oversight and community safety, Reagen Allen, saying that this is just another incident to add to numerous others, which is a major cause for concern as this trend doesn’t seem to have an end in sight:
“At this stage, the circumstances surrounding this incident are still unclear. Late on Thursday, crime scene experts were still on the scene combing the area for clues. Over the coming days, I’ll be engaging the Provincial Police Commissioner about kidnapping and various other matters. Alternatives have to be considered to immediately address the kidnappings that are occurring in our areas.”
There have been multiple kidnapping incidents of business owners in the Cape this year already, including 37-year-old Akter Pradhan.
Allen went on to say that these snatchings need to be stopped before it becomes an “international embarrassment”:
“This could also have a major impact on tourists visiting our shores or businesses investing in the province, which in turn negatively affects our economy and by extension job creation,” Allen said.
Anyone with any information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
