It was bound to happen.
The moment Nic White took a tumble during the Springboks’ loss to the Wallabies in last month’s first Rugby Championship showdown, you just knew there would be some inspirational outfits at the Rugby World Cup Sevens.
Cape Town played host over the weekend and while the Blitzboks really dropped the ball, losing to both Ireland and Argentina en route to a seventh-place finish, the crowd delivered.

If any lessons can be learnt from this year’s tournament, it’s that asking the home fans to wait until after 10:30PM on Saturday to see the men’s home side in action is not well thought out.
