The Shard, known as “the Shard of Glass” due to its jagged pyramid structure, is 95 storeys tall and measures over 300 metres.
It is the tallest building in the United Kingdom.
This fact sounded like a dare to this one youngster who decided to scale the outside of the building to get to the top.
Adam Lockwood, who is no stranger to scaling massive structures, made it to the top of The Shard on Sunday morning, while horrified people watched from the street below.
Naturally, his freedom was short-lived, as police, alongside ambulances and fire engines called to the scene, were waiting to arrest him when he finally came down.
But not before the 21-year-old took a dizzying selfie standing on a precarious ledge with his GoPro and selfie stick, reported The London Economic.
Look away if you suffer from vertigo:

Per The Independent, a couple staying on the 40th floor of The Shard was in bed when they spotted a man waving and climbing past their window at the crack of dawn:
Okay, so he wasn’t pulling off some Spiderman-like sticky fingers thing, but using the building’s external scaffolding to pull himself to the top.
This appears to be another shot posted to his Instagram account, where he has aptly named himself @nuisance69_:

He may still be alive, as he states in his Instagram bio, but he is spending some time with authorities and has been charged with trespassing and causing a public nuisance:
“Officers were called at 5:38 on Sunday 4 September, following reports of a climber on The Shard. Officers, London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade all attended. A number of cordons were in place while emergency services responded.”
Alongside Adam, two others were also arrested on suspicion of causing a public nuisance.
In another post of him climbing a building in Paris La Défense, Adam shares what goes through his mind as he ascends:

Since the video is age restricted, here are some snippets from the ‘gram:
