Facebook, the social network we all love to hate. Already in its seventh year of existence, the online community has managed to connect everyone with everyone, even if they barely know one-another. For exactly that reason, many people have gone about culling off some of these Facebook “friends”, and while it freed up their newsfeed, it left others scorned.
It’s happened to just about everyone, and if it hasn’t happened to you yet, it will. You’re scrolling through your newsfeed, judging, laughing and sharing new links when you notice something is different, something’s missing. It’s hard to put your finger on exactly what but you know something’s been changed. And then it hits you, that person you met at that thing that time, they’re gone! Gone are the meaningless, irrelevant status updates, the links in which you have no interest and the stream of photos of people you’ve never known. The loss is a hard pill to swallow, but the sooner you get it down the better.
However, if you find yourself unable to cope with the hypothetical void that has formed in your cyber existence, fear not, there’s help. It comes in the form of an 80-year old, staccato speaking actor, none other than William Shatner. The former Captain Kirk is the consoling friend you’ve always wanted and he will guide you through these tumultuous times, helping you deal with the loss of an almost-unknown friend.
