We haven’t seen George Clooney and Julia Roberts star together in a movie since Ocean’s Eleven, Ocean’s Twelve, and Money Monster.
But the pair are back at it again for a classic wedding-ruining rom-com in a tropical location, complete with the will-they-won’t-they-get-back-together trope.
In Ticket To Paradise, the co-stars play a bitterly divorced couple who end up working together to dissuade their daughter from marrying someone in Bali while on her post-graduation trip.
Directed by Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again‘s Ol Parker, the couple bicker hilariously from the moment they happen upon each other on the flight to Bali, each with their own intention to thwart their daughter’s upcoming nuptials.
The pair get to swim with dolphins, tear up a dancefloor, take shots, and fire insults each other’s way, all while having made the wacky truce to ruin the wedding, per HuffPost.
Here’s the trailer before the film hits theatres on October 21:
Adorably, Clooney said the two stars had the “time of their lives” working together again, getting “to be mean to each other in the funniest way”.
Roberts, who has had a 20-year hiatus from the rom-com world, said that it was a “joy to play in that sandbox” again, adding that the film would only have worked with Clooney.
She also said that Ticket to Paradise was the first movie since Notting Hill and My Best Friend’s Wedding with the level of writing and “madcap fun” that garnered her reappearance in the genre.
