Kansas gets its fair share of tornadoes.
However, it is not often that high-res footage from a drone manages to capture the twists and twirls of the extreme meteorological phenomena as it wrecks a small suburb.
Until this drone-wielding storm chaser entered the scene.
Reed Timmer, self-described as an extreme meteorologist per Drone DJ, used a relatively small drone to capture the immense devastation of the presumed level EF-3 tornado that hit Andover, Kansas, on Friday.
Whipping about with wind speeds ranging from 220 to 265 kilometres per hour, the tornado knocked out around 1 000 buildings as the debris was lifted and thrown in the air.

Amazingly, there were no fatalities and only a few injuries.
AccuWeather meteorologist Ali Davis captured the twister from her front porch, which was around 13 kilometres away:
The twister came from a larger system of severe weather that was moving through Kansas.
