The SuperEnaLotto has been scooped by just one person this weekend. Given the lucky punter a jackpot of £127 million to play with. In Rands, that’s about R1.6 billion. I’ll quickly add that in US Dollars, it comes to $200 million.
The staggering jackpot was being reported since before the win, by SKY News and The BBC, as Europe lost their minds over what is now becoming Europe’s premiere lottery.
SKY News reports, after the victory:
One lucky Italian punter has scooped a record £127m in what Italy claims is Europe’s biggest lottery jackpot.
Sky New reports on lottery win
Tourists from around Europe had descended on Italy to take part in the Suprenalotto .
No one had won the top prize since January 31.
But the lottery fever ended when the player from Bagnone, in the province of Massa Carrara in Tuscany, picked the winning combination of 11, 27, 10, 79, 45, 88.
Players are reported to have spent more than £1.7bn since the start of the year attempt to bag the big one.
Half of the cash spent goes into state coffers.
The next draw is on Tuesday, when the jackpot will be slightly over £31m.
Jeeez, that certainly is substantial! Can you imagine winning that? You’d immediately enter the Forbes list of the top wealthiest people in Africa. I can also tell you right now for a FACT that you will be incredibly happy as you surround yourself with beautiful people and material possessions.
The funny thing about this particular draw is that people were FLYING into Italy to buy tickets for the lottery. I shit you not. USAToday reported, “a dramatic rise in sales to foreigners who cross into Italy to buy a chance at big money. Passengers on cruise ships at Italian ports are also snapping up tickets. Television news programs show lines stretching around city blocks.”
How radical is that?
Luckily you don’t have to do that. You can buy SuperEna tickets at the same place I do. Online, safely and securely.
