Only names like Jeff Bezos, Beyoncé, and Jay-Z dare be associated with the world’s largest luxury superyacht available for charter.

The aforementioned couple were spotted cruising around Cannes last year for B’s 40th birthday bash, which reportedly cost them $4 million (around R58 million) per week.

At that stage, the world dived straight into what life on the Flying Fox must be like, as the world-famous musicians snapped pics all over the giant vessel for show.

Bezos might be connected to the Flying Fox, which cost $400 million to build, having been rumoured once to be the owner.

DMarge just confirmed that the palatial yacht actually costs upwards of €3 million a week to charter – that’s around R50 million:

That is ever so slightly cheaper than what Beyoncé and Jay-Z reportedly spent, but it probably does not include all the other hidden costs that come with chartering a luxury yacht out.

As Boat International reports, there are quite a few factors that can influence the base price of a yacht charter, like whether you are taking it out during the high season or low season, the reputability of the yacht, as well as all the extras included in the charter contract.

There are also added expenses coming from the crew, the food, the fuel, the harbour fees and dockage, insurance, VAT, and quite a lot more.

Available to charter via superyacht specialists Imperial, the Flying Fox is the most expensive and the largest – 136-metre long, designed and custom-made across every millimetre:

The Flying Fox accommodates up to 25 guests, spread out among 11 cabins, all of which enjoy private sea-view terraces. There’s also a cinema (and a crew of 55) on board.

The main deck’s swimming pool is 12-metres long, and is more like something you’d expect to see on a cruise ship rather than a superyacht. The Flying Fox also has a 400 square meter, 2-floor spa.

Able to fly at 20 knots and a cruising speed of 17 knots, the Flying Fox also comes packed with toys galore:

You can play with three jet skis, four Seabobs, four Poseidon Seven Rebreathers, one Zapata Flyboard, three e-foils, one Awake RÄVIK 3, professional kite inventory (and instructors), stand up paddleboards, kayaks, water skis, and towable inflatables.

For those folk less fortunate than the likes of Beyoncé, there’s the cheapest charter option onboard the 20-metre yacht George V, which is available to charter at €14 000 per week (around R230 000).
