I was interviewed by YOU Magazine over the last week and got chatting to the photographer, Martin de Kock. I was quite impressed with his CV of who he has shot before and asked if he did any other work.
It seems our boy has a little exhibition going on! I thought I’d let you know about it. He sent me the poster and press release. I’m glad he told me when he did, because the last nights are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week!
PHOTOGRAPHER TO THE STARS NOW CAPTURES THE BEAUTY OF WOMEN
Prince Harry, Richard Gere. Michael Bolton, Will Young, Matt Damon and Clint Eastwood . . . the South African photographer to the stars, Martin De Kock, has snapped them all. And now he’s showing even more when he unveils a staggering photographic exhibition on August 5 focusing his lens on the beauty of the female form.
De Kock, one of the premiere celebrity photographers in the country is well-known for his revealing, split-second perfect, and often unguarded photographs of local and international celebrities – captured in brilliant moments through the lens and keen eye of De Kock.
De Kock, whose celebrity and paparazzi shots of the rich, young and famous have been seen and printed around the (incl. several magazine covers), has another photographic passion as well: women. It’s this stylistic photography technique that he will now be celebrating with a photographic exhibition of his own images that opens on August 5 to co-incide with Women’s Month.
”My inspiration for an exhibition started with a photo that I took of my girlfriend Marcelle Segal,” says De Kock who is the official celebrity photographer for Huisgenoot, YOU and Drum magazines (the country’s most well-read magazines). ”I fell in love with artistic photography celebrating women and taking pictures that capture the female form in unguarded moments and displaying a diverse range of strong emotions.”
The opening night of De Kock’s photographic exhibition is on August 5 at 38 Special Gallery at 38 Buitenkant street, Gardens, Cape Town at 18:00. The exhibition opens for the public on August 6 and runs until August 26.
