Old Grey Sports Club in Gqeberha had to stub out a social media fire after one of their staff members labelled a patron’s table “Indian” on their bill.
Meshaan Naidoo shared a picture of the bill on Faebook, which has since caused quite a stir.
Although, management at the popular Glendinningvale restaurant said that the matter has now been resolved and that the post has been taken down.
TimesLIVE reported that they could not get in touch with the customer for his comment, but that he wrote this on the Facebook post alongside a picture of the “Indian” tab:
“This kind of behaviour in 2022 is unacceptable.
Instead of putting our table number as the tab name, our table number was ‘Indian’.
I won’t be visiting your establishment again, Old Grey Sports Club.”
