When my friends and I were young, the best way to imitate the adults, with their cellphones (the classic Nokia 3310 brick, back then) and handbags, was to walk around with cut-out paper versions of those things.
It seems my childhood antics are not so unlike the games that South African kids are playing these days, with their paper version of DJ Black Coffee’s Konka nightclub.
Everyone on Twitter and beyond is talking about this viral video showing young scholars pretending to attend a show at the popular Soweto nightclub.
The kids are decked out in fake nails, designer bags, and the coolest club toys and vices, all made from paper, as they enter their imaginary Konka club.
There are even some cool kids hanging around in the corner, smoking a fake hookah pipe (made from paper), at what can only be a VIP table.
But the end of the clip is where the money is at, with a young man who looks strikingly similar to DJ Black Coffee, spinning on a fake deck:

TimesLIVE reported that most of the comments on Twitter admired the young Black Coffee, with many using the moment as an opportunity to share the love for adult Black Coffee, too.
DJ Fresh reposted the video to his Instagram showing his appreciation for the skills on display:

Although DJ Black Coffee is not in the country at the moment, at least he knows he has young Black Coffee to fill his boots.
