There has been much speculation regarding who the next James Bond will be, with Daniel Craig stepping down from the role.
Since his last outing in No Time To Die, all the buff actors even slightly worthy of the highly sought-after 007 stage have been mentioned somewhere along the line.
There’s been talk of it being Tom Hardy, Bridgerton‘s Regé-Jean Page, Welsh heartthrob Luke Evans, or even the British-Jamaican actress Lashana Lynch.
Now, the producers of James Bond have said British actor Idris Elba is officially a “part of the conversation”.
At the age of 49, and as smooth as ever, Elba has appeared in several Hollywood movies including Concrete Cowboy, Pacific Rim, and Thor: Ragnarok:
His fans are now ready to see him a little bit more dressed up for the screen, according to producer Barbara Broccoli over at Sky News:
Broccoli, 61, said: “Well, we know Idris, we’re friends with him, and he’s a magnificent actor.
“And, you know, it’s been part of the conversation, but it’s always difficult to have the conversation when you have someone in the seat.
“I think we have decided that until No Time To Die has had its run and Daniel has been able to – well, we’ve all been able to savour, reap the benefits of Daniel’s wonderful tenure, we’re not gonna think about, or talk about anybody else, actors to play the role or storylines, we just want to live in the moment.”
