Sjoe, how about this weather?
Summer came late this year, with December 8 now in the record books as the latest date ever that we have declared summer open.
We’ve since made up for lost time with a number of scorchers already this year, and the impending weekend is another to add to the list.
Yes, take a moment to bask in the glory of it being Friday.
According to The Citizen, “an upper air high-pressure system will usher in sunny and dry weather across the Northern and Western Cape provinces”.
The Western Cape, especially, is going to cook:
Wellington and Paarl residents should brace a high of 41°C on Friday, 44°C on Saturday.
From Sunday, things take a slight turn for the better, with temperatures expected to reach a high of 39°C. Meanwhile, Paarl residents can expect a high of 44°C on Saturday and 42°C degrees on Sunday.
Hectic.
For all weather-related matters, we use the WeatherPro app.
Montagu, which is around two-and-a-half hours outside of Cape Town, is set for a stinker:
Just the 39 degrees tomorrow and all of 43 degrees on Sunday.
Stay hydrated.
Luckily, anybody headed to Cabine du Cap this weekend can spend their time submerged.
The cabin has a pool close at hand:

You’ll be pleased to know there is no shortage of ice for your drinks to aid in beating the heat.
Both are pet-friendly so bring the hounds and make sure their water bowls are topped up.
Enjoy the weekend sun, good people.
