Why are we even giving Piers Morgan’s comments on Meghan Markle any attention?
No idea, but here we are.
Anything related to Piers going after Meghan must come with a little explainer.
Thin-skinned Piers is still unbelievably bitter about being ghosted by the now Duchess of Sussex, which he leverages in order to get clicks on The Daily Mail.
They pay him handsomely to spoonfed that hate to the rag’s readers who gobble it up.
Piers laughs but there’s really a lot of pain behind those eyes:

With the stage set, I guess we will take a closer look at his latest column.
It’s creatively headlined “Put your gloating champagne away, Princess Pinocchio – the court of public opinion now knows you’re a fork-tongued devious manipulative piece of work who only wants to protect your privacy so you can sell it”.
Aside from allowing Piers to spew hate, the column focuses on news that Meghan Markle had ‘won’ her privacy court battle with the Mail on Sunday.
The Court of Appeal decided the outlet was not entitled to publish as much of Meghan’s letter to her estranged father, Thomas Markle, as it did.
Don your protective gear and let’s venture in:
Her victory response was issued within seconds, on regal notepaper adorned with a gold ‘M’ under a golden crown, and headlined: ‘Statement from Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex.’
You might think this a curiously regal way of doing things for a woman who spends her entire time trashing the Monarchy and smearing the Royal Family for being disgusting callous racists.
How dare she respond to a legal ruling, says the man who regularly devotes entire columns to a woman who wants nothing to do with him.
The court case did reveal that Meghan was aware the letter may be leaked by her father, who has sought to profit off his daughter at any and every opportunity, and thus parts of the letter were worded in such a way as to present her favourably.
Not a great look, but Piers’ long and storied involvement with a media outlet that regularly tapped people’s phones renders him a little compromised on this front.
Anyway, we go on if we must:
She can claim ‘victory’ all she likes after this court case, but all it really did was expose her real character to the world and the cold, hard two-faced reality at the heart of Meghan and Harry’s attitude to privacy…
As with her proud use of a royal title bestowed by an institution that she constantly damages, Meghan Markle wants to have her cake and eat it.
But if I were her, I’d stick the celebratory champagne back in the fridge today.
Thanks to this court case, we’ve now seen what the real Meghan looks like, fork tongue and all.
Think what you want about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
Who cares, at the end of the day?
But Piers, move on, man.
Maybe ring your best pal Ronaldo if you’re feeling a little down.
