Communicating in front of large crowds is not so easy.
Even the President of the United States of America messes up.
I guess that’s not a very comforting sentiment since Donald Trump was once the US president and he messed up so persistently that it might as well have become a country sport.
But we are not here because of Trump.
Rather, we are here to talk about President Joe Biden and his “Ron Burgundy” moment.
Biden was reading a speech about gas prices off a teleprompter on Tuesday when the classic faux pas occurred that had everyone on social media comparing him to Will Ferrell’s character in Anchorman.
He was referencing a statement from the CEO of Walmart when he hilariously ended off with “end of quote”.
The New York Post has his speech:
“And, by the way, you may have heard the CEO of Walmart yesterday on the steps we’ve taken. He said, and I quote, “The combination of private enterprise and government working together has been really successful,'” Biden said in the speech.
“He went on to say, “All the way through the supply chain, there’s… a lot of innovation.” Because of the actions we’ve taken, things have begun to change. End of quote.”
Of course, the moment was quickly compared to Ferrell’s character who is known to read absolutely every single line as it appears on the teleprompter:
Classic, President Ron Burgundy.
Sorry, I mean President Biden.
