My days of wild partying in public places are mostly behind me.
These days I drink excessively in the presence of friends at undisclosed locations, where the chances of being filmed doing something I may regret at a later stage are severely limited.
Clearly, that wasn’t a concern for many who jolled at Altitude Beach in Fourways, Jozi this weekend.
Multiple videos are now doing the rounds showing wild scenes. IOL has compiled them, which I will attempt to present without much comment:
This is where things started getting wild at Altitude 😂😭 pic.twitter.com/NAPuQPnZ7V

Things soon escalated:

I get the feeling that was not COVID-19 compliant, which also goes for the below behaviour:

According to IOL, Sunday saw plenty of live music:
[Footage] appears to be from a “Hunter’s Music Needs You” show at the live performance venue on Sunday.
Performers included the likes of Uncle Waffles, Cassper Nyovest, Kabza De Small and De Mthuda.
The Altitude Beach website states that “Strict hygiene and social distancing measures apply”. They may want to revisit those measures.
I had a look around and found a number of package deals, with the cheapest starting at R10 000 for six people:
For R30 000, 14 people can really, really live it up:
Gotta get those platters and pizzas in to line the stomachs.
All of the above is why I drink at home, in a nutshell.
