How is it only Tuesday?
Usually, we wait until the end of the week for our triple trailer perusal posts, but here we are.
You’ve heard of Moonfall, right?
No, you haven’t, but imaginary points coming your way if you guessed the movie is about what would happen if the Moon fell to Earth.
Over to The Verge:
[It] looks like about what you’d expect from the director of Independence Day and The Day After Tomorrow— loud, lots of action, and a desperate band of heroes who nobody takes seriously but who have to save the world.
Oh and guess what: according to the official description “our Moon is not what we think it is.”
Halle Berry, Patrick Wilson, Michael Pena, John Bradley, and Donald Sutherland star…
Great, now we can’t even trust the Moon.
Moonfall is due in US theatres from February 4.
Next up, we have The Wheel of Time:
Based on the series of books started by the late Robert Jordan (which was finished by Brandon Sanderson), The Wheel of Time focuses on Rosamund Pike’s Moraine, a member of the powerful all-female Aes Sedai organization, as she leads a group of five young people on a journey around the world, one of whom will fulfill the prophecy of the Dragon Reborn.
Not my usual cup of tea, but I’m sure that will appeal to some:
Like a number of recent series, The Wheel of Time will be rolled out in a staggered release.
The first three episodes arrive on Amazon Prime Video on November 19, with new episodes every Friday thereafter.
I’ll finish with a doccie, just to complete the ‘film / series / doccie’ triple-up, and The Velvet Underground.
More via Paste:
It was high time The Velvet Underground got a flashy legacy-examining documentary of their own, and there’re few working directors better suited to bringing it to audiences than Todd Haynes…
According to the official synopsis, “the film features in-depth interviews with the key players of that time combined with a treasure trove of never-before-seen performances and a rich collection of recordings, Warhol films, and other experimental art that creates an immersive experience…
At the very least, you have to appreciate ‘I’m Waiting for the Man’.
This doccie rolls out on October 15.
Fancy a fourth trailer, free of charge?
Fine, but I’m not even going to bother with a description beyond saying it stars Dwayne Johnson:
Enough said.
Oh, and chuck Misha and the Wolves on your list as well.
