There have been countless memes mocking Jeff Bezos over his trip to space on July 20.
There were comments on the silliness of spending money to toss around some ping pong balls and eat Skittles in space rather than fight the climate crisis back on Earth.
There were also tons of memes equating his manhood with his rocket, the shape of which really makes such comments unavoidable.
And then there were the questionable things he said when he came back to Earth, like thanking his Amazon employees for funding his short-lived space trip.
The infamous statement, per NY Daily News:
“I want to thank every Amazon employee and every Amazon customer because you guys paid for all of this,” Bezos said while beaming at the postflight press conference.
“Seriously, for every Amazon customer out there and every Amazon employee, thank you from the bottom of my heart very much. It’s very appreciated.”
These are the same employees he pays a minimum wage to and who have to pee into bottles in order to hit their targets.
At least Bezos didn’t actually get any officially recognised astronaut wings for his quick space jaunt.
One meme that takes centre stage for this Amazon comment depicts The Joker, a destitute character on the fringes of society.
It was posted by Tank Sinatra on Instagram and calls out the Amazon founder from the perspective of Amazon’s hourly wage workforce:
Oh, would you look at that?
An unlikely specimen has taken the liberty to like the meme – Zuck.
That’s Facebook’s founder, Mark Zuckerberg, who approves this message.
Perhaps he should look after his own workforce before he gets too lippy.
