Discovering a new band or musician before they become mainstream is always a good feeling.
My mate from varsity still brings up that time he told us all about Kings of Leon a good year or so before their music was everywhere.
Well done, man. We’re proud of you.
Part of the fun of going to a big festival is hearing the bands that play on the smaller stages. You know, the ones you actually haven’t heard of until you stumble across them after getting lost looking for the nearest portaloo.
Coachella is one such festival, and has provided the launchpad for many a household name.
Back in 2013, Jimmy Kimmel sent one of his staff along to ask about those breakthrough bands, with one small catch – they didn’t exist.
The end result was an infamous video that has now been viewed in excess of 17 million times.
I assume that matches the cumulative number of cringes from those featured in the video. Seriously, this is both painful and hilarious to witness.
Happy Thursday to all!
