Love gurus and dating experts have gone to extreme lengths to prove that there is more to love than meets the eye, and TV shows have diligently followed suit.
There’s been dating in the dark, dating by smelling a person’s T-shirt, dating while in completely separate rooms, and now there’s dating as a sexy beast, literally.
In Netflix’s new dating show, Sexy Beasts, contestants will don cutting edge prosthetic makeup, putting “true blind-date chemistry to the test”.
Gizmodo reports:
Singles will go on three dates with potential love interests, all of whom are in extensive prosthetic makeup to look like an assortment of animals, including pandas, what looks to be an armadillo, rhinos, and birds.
Some will even be decked out as aliens and something that may or may not be a sea creature.
After three dates, the single person will pick one person, at which point that person’s human form will be revealed.
As per CNET, Sexy Beasts started out as a series on the BBC in 2014, and now the Masked Singer meets Love Is Blind show is getting a new lease on life.
The disguised daters reveal a new take on what it means to wear a mask, as the show was filmed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The premise seems to arise based on popular Google searches from US internet users in the last year or so, with terms like “furry porn”, “furry hentai”, and “furry sex” ranking high in keyword searches:
America is horny for furry content. However, it wouldn’t be accurate to say this is furry culture. At best, it is furry adjacent.
No, in further researching this topic, I’ve been informed that this show is closer to some PG-rated monster kink…
Hopefully, monster kink is self-explanatory enough.
Ready yourself:
When dating meets chemically-induced hallucinations…
Sexy Beasts will premiere on July 21, and you know it’s going to prove popular, because this sort of nonsense always does.
