Yesterday, Ever Given, the ship blocking the Suez Canal, was finally dislodged.
After nearly a week of disrupting almost $10 billion in global trade daily, that should come as a welcome relief to people around the world.
Of course, that also means we must say farewell to the memes – oh, all the beautiful memes – but before we do, let’s have a final round-up.
I insist on revisiting this whenever the opportunity arises:

It also means an end to the real-time trackers watching the plight of the Ever Given unfold, but perhaps they can turn their attention to the incredibly heroic rescues going on off the coast of Mozambique.
Right, memes, and lots of them.

Via BuzzFeed, there were many who struggled to see the upside of the boat being freed:

some people aren’t brave enough to stand by their convictions, but I’m going to say it: put the boat back now.

OK, that is quite enough.
There’s a game, too, if you want to embody the part of the bulldozer trying to dislodge the Ever Given, which you can play here.
It was fun (and disastrous to international trade) while it lasted.
