How is it already Thursday?

No, not applicable – this week has not flown by.

But here we are, and that means we get to throwback to times of old. This week, we thought we would pay tribute to Daft Punk, which broke up recently after 28 years in the business.

Props for honesty, because nobody would have known it wasn’t them under those space helmets.

Daft Punk produced some real bangers over the years, and also spawned a certain kind of tribute video on YouTube.

Two of those have gone on to become viral sensations, starting with 2007’s ‘Daft Hands’.

It was made by Seattle-based illustrator Austin Hall, who says he recorded it in a single take, and has in excess of 73 million views.

You know the one:

Some nifty handwork there, but the skill level intensified a few months later with ‘Daft Bodies’.

Same soundtrack, but this time there are two participants, and they’re using their entire bodies to get the lyrics down.

This video ‘only’ has 20 million views, but I think the impressive coordination more than rivals ‘Daft Hands’:

Also, congrats to The South African for launching their own Throwback Thursday series today, featuring Vernon Koekemoer videos.

I’m sure it’s a total coincidence that we featured all of those videos last week, in our own Throwback Thursday tribute to Vernon.
