Former president Donald Trump’s impeachment trial kicked off earlier this week.
On day one, Democrat House impeachment managers played a 13-minute video outlining some of what happened that day, illustrating just how close elected government officials within the Capitol came to being chased down by the rioters.
Sadly, five people did die on the day, and more than 140 people reported injuries, many of those police and law enforcement officers.

Democrat congressman Eric Swalwell played police bodycam footage, captured from the perspective of the officers, showing the crowd attacking police with whatever items were at hand, including crutches and a Trump flag:
Finally, in an ode to ‘Heeeeere’s Johnny’ from The Shining, there was this:

Pretty chilling stuff.
Sadly, it doesn’t really matter what comes out during the impeachment trial, because Republicans have made it clear that they have no interest in holding Trump accountable.
