Finally, after what feels like quite a wait, the iPhone 12 will be available in South Africa from December 18.
That’s just around the corner and just in time for Christmas, so be sure to add it to your list.
There’s much to look forward to once that new iPhone is in your hand, not least of which the hotly anticipated 12-megapixel ultrawide rear camera, 5G capabilities, and the new ‘Ceramic Shield’ glass cover.
This spells the end of the iSmash – my term for the moment that my iPhone lands face down on the concrete.
The new tech is pretty impressive. Scan the internet and you’ll find tons of folks dropping the iPhone onto a number of surfaces, only to have it emerge from the experience unscathed.
A few more notable features to ramp up the anticipation:
In terms of pricing and features, we’ve looked at Digicape, South Africa’s largest independent Apple retailer, for the lowdown.
The iPhone 12 mini is a smaller phone, with a 5,4-inch screen and similar specs to the full-sized iPhone 12.
Pricing: from R15 999
The standard iPhone 12, complete with edges not dissimilar to the popular iPhone 4 and iPhone 5, is 6,1 inches, and comes with two rear cameras, both of which will support night mode.
Pricing: from 18 999
The iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max have three back cameras that offer a 5X optical zoom range, a LIDAR sensor for things like improved augmented reality apps and autofocus, and a stainless steel outer band.
Pricing: from R23 499 for iPhone 12 Pro, from R25 999 for iPhone 12 Pro Max.
If you’re unsure which model best suits what you’re after, you can always schedule a free chat with one of Digicape’s Virtual Shopping Assistants, who can guide you through the process.
They’re your first port of call for unrivalled product knowledge, range, training, and service solutions.
A reminder that you can also trade in your older Apple goodies (up to five iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, or Apple TV products) for store credit at Digicape.
December 18 – mark it down.
