There was a fair amount of pent-up stress, built up over the past four years, and boiling over while we waited in anticipation for the US election results.

So naturally, when Joe Biden was declared president-elect, people needed to let their hair down.

Street parties broke out almost instantaneously, and while Trump supporters dusted off pitchforks and started online petitions, the rest of the nation danced, sprayed champagne, and generally let loose.

One song, in particular, says Mashable, was unearthed and has been doing the rounds.

The 1999 Miley Cyrus hit ‘Party in the USA’ made it to the streets, and back into the charts, after Cyrus shared a meme that shows Joe Biden playing the song into his microphone:

It quickly became the unofficial anthem for the election victory.

Trust me, it’s a party all over the world.

Miley’s track wasn’t the only one revived for the occasion.

Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ featured in a video of some folks dancing and singing at a gas station on Los Feliz Boulevard in Los Angeles that has since gone viral.

Per Refinery29, the party was hosted by comedians and writers Addie Weyrich and Demi Adejuyigbe, who can be seen dancing and holding a Biden/Harris sign, on Weyrich’s car.

After that, I might feel less hostile towards it the next time it assaults my ears in a grocery store.
