Not that it’s a problem. Jordy Smith has been known to eat Kelly Slater from time to time. Now I want you to think to yourself for a second about Kelly Slater. Kelly Slater is one of the biggest superstars on the planet. And it’s surfing. Surfing is his line of work. Surfing is the coolest sport in the world and he quietly, without causing a scene, lives the jetset lifestyle – because that’s how big surfing is. He’s got jets and shit. Chicks like Cameron Diaz stalk him. It’s a big deal. We’re talking global here, folks.

I was chatting to a big-wave surfer buddy of mine, Sammy Leith, and he agreed that because the pro surfers are cruising around the world and by nature pack lightly, they’re pretty up-to-date when it comes to tech and gadgets. Surfing is a tricky sport when it comes to live viewership, because the swell is in the laps of the Gods. They plan the event well in advance, but when it comes to the day, you very often have to wait. So for us to let you know when to watch Jordy surfing live – is quite a short notice thing. That’s why we’ve got young Jordy letting us know when it’s time. Because he wants to know that all you maniacs out there are watching him when he turns it on.

Jordy sent me an SMS a short while ago saying he would be out there in about 50 minutes time. That was at 10h40. Which means you should be hitting it sweetly at 11h30 today.
