I was going to write about my Monday, which saw roughly 12 humans coming at me between 8AM and 8:10AM, resulting in me pushing reset on the week. How does one push reset, you ask?
Well, I walked directly to the Cannador and cracked open the Pax 3 to put everything into perspective. The Blue Dream from Cape Cannabis Club was exactly what I needed to get an ‘overview’ of things, and take the day on, in a more constructive manner.
But I don’t want to bore you with stories of hectic Mondays. I’d far rather change your life by telling you what I’ve just found. Something that will be the breath of fresh air this planet needs after the shitshow that is 2020. And we (in South Africa) are perfectly and uniquely positioned to enjoy that fresh air, as we’re heading directly into summer.
Later that very Monday, I received a heads-up from one times Boggom. It was a link to an app called Poolside FM. It’s an odd one to send out of the blue, but his timing couldn’t have been better, given my state of mind.
I pressed play and… I just know my life will never be the same.
There is something so special about the tunes coming out of this app – and so far they are all new to me. With the perfect beat.
And five different channels within the Poolside FM app to choose from – ‘Poolside FM’, ‘Indie Summer’, ‘Hangover Club’, ‘Tokyo Disco’ and ‘Friday Night Heat’.
According to TechCrunch:
The Poolside.fm [that’s a website – try it for smooth tunes at your desk] project actually began back in 2014, when founder and serial entrepreneur Marty Bell was in search of some sort of virtual getaway. Bell lives in the Highlands of Scotland, where it’s often gray and rainy, he says. And that can be depressing.
As an escape, Bell began listening to a certain type of uplifting, happy music via SoundCloud. He decided it would be fun to have those tunes in a playful environment that also reminded him of his other “happy place” — “80s beach movies on VHS, where it’s like the American summer dream,” Bell explains.
He then teamed up with developer Grant MacLennan to launch the initial version of the Poolside.fm website, then called Poolside Radio, in 2014.
Fast-forward six years and the iOS version is here!
The app interface is retro-cool, with 80s computer graphics and throwback video visuals, like people breakdancing with sweatbands, slow-mo jetski fun, a Lamborghini Countach here, a Ferrari Mondial there.
I’m listening to it now – literally typing what I see. It’s unbelievable. It even lets you take a picture of yourself in the same vibe. Obviously this will be better in summer when we’re actually poolside.
This app will change your life.
So will Blue Dream, to be quite honest. Listen to this:
Blue Dream, a sativa-dominant hybrid originating in California, has achieved legendary status among West Coast strains. Crossing Blueberry with Haze, Blue Dream balances full-body relaxation with gentle cerebral invigoration. Novice and veteran consumers alike enjoy the level effects of Blue Dream, which ease you gently into a calm euphoria.
With a sweet berry aroma redolent of its Blueberry parent, Blue Dream delivers swift symptom relief without heavy sedative effects. This makes Blue Dream a popular daytime medicine for patients treating pain, depression, nausea, and other ailments requiring a high THC strain.
Get it from the Cape Cannabis Club – it comes highly recommended and they deliver to your door – legally.
Better still, when you sign up, they’ll send you a gram of the good stuff, for free.
